The NTMA has transformed the aged metalworking programs in local San Fernando Valley schools. Members are active in supporting various programs that provide new and motivated employees for their companies.
NTMA's Apprenticeship Committee oversees this valuable resource for the member firms. Employees are supported and mentored as they follow a variety of Apprenticeship options that dramatically improve the value and performance of existing employees.
The Chapter coordinates outreach efforts with local schools that include career days, Industrial Arts grants, internships, and advisory committees.
Our efforts have created a system of local schools at the high school and community college level credentialed by the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS). These schools are beginning to offer various skill certificates within three major levels of the NIMS credentialing process.
