Top-Level CNC Machinist - Lathe & Mill
No. of Vacancies: 2Job Description/ Responsibilities:
Set-up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and non-metallic workpieces. Position utilizes knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability or materials, shop math, and offsets and editing of programs with minimal help from supervisor.
• Edit initial program and adjust set-up for first-article acceptance.
• Interpret drawings, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, and operation sequence.
• Identify problems for supervisor.
• Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces.
• Select and install cutting tools.
• Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to workpiece and regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.
• Start machine and monitor display and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
• Stop machine to change cutting tools or measure parts.
• Enter commands to offset and adjust machine controls.
• Operate machine manually when required.
• Clean machine, tooling and parts.
• Perform machine maintenance.
• maintain statistical process control charts.
Required Qualification:
Between 1 and 2 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship
Experience:
5 years minimum
Additional Job Requirment:
Good Computer skills are helpful
